It requires no impressions, no laboratory construction, and can be directly bonded during one in-office visit. The EZ Space Maintainer is more aesthetic and hygienic than traditional space maintainer appliances. Simple and easy to use, the EZ Space Maintainer is available as a fixed appliance providing easy maintenance of the mesio-distal dimension of any lost, deciduous teeth or as an adjustable appliance by using the NiTi coil included to regain some space.

by squeezing the stopper with any plier.

Application Instructions

1.Choose the proper space maintainer by its

color mark and remove the coil spring, or for

space regaining keep coil spring on.

Green - Upper Right, Yellow - Upper Left,

	2.While holding the space maintainer with PANTERA® Standard How Utility Pliers (Item #: 000115) adjust the length of the space maintainer.		2.Before activating the coil spring, squeeze the stopper with PANTERA® Standard How Utility Pliers (Item #: 000115).
	3.Check occlusally to ensure the bases adapt perfectly to the tooth surfaces. If necessary, additional adaptation could be performed with a PANTERA® Three Prong Plier (Item #: 000117).		3.Adjust the length of the space maintainer by applying a depressive force with stainless steel ligature wire using a Mathieu Hemostat (Item #: OT-8015). Slowly twist the stainless steel ligature wire to the necessary length.
	4.If shortest setting is needed for a small space, the space maintainer rod will need to be trimmed and polished for patient comfort (see example).		4.Using a PANTERA® Standard How Utility Plier (Item #: 000115) check occlusally to be sure that the bases adapt perfectly to the tooth surfaces. If necessary, additional adaptation can be performed with a PANTERA® Three Prong Plier (Item #: 000117).
	5.Secure the length and orientation of the space maintainer by squeezing the slider with PANTERA® Standard How Utility Pliers (Item #: 000115).		5.Etch each tooth surface for one minute. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Bond the space maintainer with Resilience® Light-Cure Adhesive (Item #: FC-RESI-006SK) and light cure each tooth.
	6.Etch each tooth surface for one minute. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Bond retainer with Resilience® Light-Cure Adhesive (Item #: FC-RESI-006SK) and light cure each tooth.		6.Cut the stainless steel ligature wire.
